UEFA Conference League – AC Virtus
A production following the champions of Europe’s smallest football nation, from Iceland to home soil, on the night they made history in UEFA Conference League.
In the summer of 2025, AC Virtus became the first club in San Marino’s history to reach the playoff round of a UEFA competition, the Conference League. Across two legs, the champions of the smallest football nation in Europe faced Breiðablik, the Icelandic title holders: the away match in Iceland, the return on home soil in San Marino.
We were there for both. DSGN followed the team across the entire tie and turned it into a minifilm. Not match highlights, but a film about what it means to carry the colors of the smallest of nations onto one of football’s biggest stages.

Access that few studios get
A production like this does not happen from the stands. UEFA accreditation gave us the access that separates coverage from cinema: pitchside, in the tunnel, close to the team in the moments the public never sees. Operating a sports production at this level across an international fixture, on foreign soil and at home is not something most studios can deliver. It is exactly the kind of work DSGN is built for.
A story of scale
From Iceland to San Marino, from the northern lights to the Adriatic Coast
The narrative turned on a single idea: scale. The smallest country in European football, far from home, under the wide northern sky of Iceland, then back to its own stadium, carrying the weight of a nation’s first. We shot the contrast on purpose: the intimacy of the squad against the vastness of the landscape, the silence of the locker room against the noise of a European night.
Directed, not just recorded
We approached the whole tie as cinema, not coverage. The travel, the training, the arrival in a foreign country, the walk to the pitch, the faces before kick-off, the final whistle. Every moment was framed, paced, scored, and color-graded to carry emotion, built as a short film rather than a club recap.
The piece holds up beyond the scoreline: a record of a historic night, made with the weight it deserved.
